Our History

JA GroundScaping was formed by a father and son team who between them had big ideas but knew we needed to start small. Andy and James began working together in 2017, mainly completing small jobs on weekends as they were both working full time jobs elsewhere and were unable to take the leap to work for themselves at this point. Up until 2020 they were unsure how JA would progress further, but then their hand was forced. As James was laid off during the first lockdown, it gave him time to reflect, and think about what he really wanted, not only from JA but out of life. James knew that the only way he would be satisfied and fulfilled would be to work for himself, to be able to work on a personal basis with customers. He had learned from previous jobs that the best way to work is on a one-to-one basis with a client, so that even the slightest of changes can be discussed and made quickly and efficiently. Working in this way means that not only does the client have full control over their project, but it also makes every project individual and gives the team full satisfaction at the end of the project, knowing that all of the clients wishes and needs are achieved. They put their heads together as soon as the lockdown restrictions were lifted, trying to get their name out there any way possible. Contacting other local businesses and working together, helping local people and reaching out within the community. They were so shocked by the response they received! In what seemed to be no time at all, they were looking to hire new team members. Searching for like-minded individuals who were keen to work completely with the clients best interests in mind. The team has expanded and is constantly evolving, learning new methods and skills.
